Enjoy delicious breakfasts at our B&B in Eryri | Snowdonia, North Wales

Breakfast is a very important part of your stay with us - you’re on holiday!

Served in the dining room of our Victorian home, we create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in which to start your day here in North Wales.

Our dining room

If you’re hoping to have an earlier start - maybe you want to climb up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) first thing - don’t worry!

Just let us know your plans in advance or on arrival and we will discuss options with you - for instance we can provide a takeaway breakfast.

We are still talking about the breakfasts!!!

Our breakfast menu

Enjoy a traditional cooked breakfast

Offering you the choice of local sausage and bacon, free-range Welsh eggs, slow-roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and baked beans, our cooked breakfast will set you up for the day.

We can also prepare a similar vegetarian or vegan cooked breakfast with plant-based sausages.

Our offering is technically not a ‘traditional Welsh breakfast’ as that would normally include the delicacy ‘laverbread’ which is edible seaweed.

This is obviously an acquired taste, hence we choose not to serve it!

Try the daily breakfast special!

We also offer a ‘daily special’ if you fancy something different for breakfast - it gives you the chance to have something new every day when you stay with us if you wish!

The special rotates and changes each day (often between sweet and savoury) and it is always vegetarian.

We can also usually adapt it or create something equally tasty for other alternative diets such as vegan / plant-based, dairy / lactose free and coeliac / gluten-free.

The breakfast specials we regularly prepare and take inspiration from include:

  • omelettes

  • French toast

  • American-style pancakes

  • sweetcorn fritters

  • potato and onion hash

  • frittatas

  • miso-glazed mushrooms on toast with ‘overnight’ soy eggs

  • kimchi pancakes

  • freshly made waffles with different toppings

  • shakshuka

  • Turkish eggs

  • slow-roasted tomatoes on toast with ricotta

  • Japanese-style ‘okonomiyaki pancake’

  • avocado on toast with poached eggs

  • Welsh rarebit

  • Indian-style ‘masala’ toast

  • potato röstis

… to name but a few, and we’re always looking to create other new and unique breakfast dishes for our guests.

TIP - if there is a daily special above you would particularly like to try then just drop a hint when you stay with us - it usually works!

Or maybe something else for breakfast?

Equally we are always happy to prepare you something lighter or simpler for breakfast such as scrambled eggs on toast, a warming bowl of porridge with honey, or why not a classic bacon sandwich.

To round things off we always have fresh fruit, juices, local Welsh yogurts, homemade jams and preserves, toast, and cereals also available.

Special diets and requests

Special diets and requests for vegetarian, vegan / plant-based, coeliac / gluten-free / wheat-free and dairy / lactose-free breakfasts are of course catered for.

Please advise us in advance where possible though so we can ensure we have suitable ingredients, adapt our offerings and create delicious dishes when you stay with us.

We always have plant-based milks available and some of our daily specials are vegan by choice anyway - for instance our pancakes are made with almond milk as it by far works the best!

My gluten free diet could not have been better catered for too (I even got my own biscuits!)

On that note, excellent breakfast. The ingredients of which are locally sourced, which I love.

Locally sourced produce

Being passionate ‘foodies’ - you will see our rather large cookbook collection in the snug! - we pride ourselves on obtaining and cooking the freshest and best locally sourced Welsh produce.

As part of this we support the best independent producers and suppliers Eryri | Snowdonia and Wales has to offer, who provide us with top quality products and ingredients.

We have the luxury of a village butchers in Trefriw - affectionately known locally as ‘Maralyn’s’ - which is right opposite our bed and breakfast.

Superb handmade pork sausages along with bacon and other delicious products come from them.

It is also justifiably famous in North Wales for the sausage rolls and pies that are made on the premises - definitely try them when you stay!

We also source the following local and ethical products:

  • Expertly roasted coffee from the coffee roasters Heartland Coffi in Llandudno on the North Wales coast

  • A selection of Fairtrade and herbal teas

  • The freshest free-range Welsh eggs from Ochr Cefyn Isa near Betws-y-Coed - delivered to us every week

  • Delicious Welsh yoghurts from Llaeth Y Llan dairy in Denbigh, North Wales

  • Bread for toast and sandwiches and biscuits in rooms are homemade by Jasmine!

  • Jams and preserves are also homemade with produce from the garden, or made for us locally
